Last week London hosted the Victoria Secret Annual Fashion show for the very first time. Here at Skinny Boo HQ we were fascinated with the Angel's fitness preparation regimes, and we’re not the only ones. Many would think that as models these women were born with amazing genes and have to do very little to stay fit. We found it refreshing to learn that with specific workouts and lifestyle choices these girls work damn hard to stay lean and healthy. Some of their routines are readily available online, or are part of gym classes up and down the country. You tube is currently full of amazing tips and tricks to #TrainLikeAnAngel
Our favourite discovery was Jourdan Dunn’s tried and tested barrecore regime. An extremely intense fitness class focusing on ballet inspired positions that sculpt the body. Barrecorre have their own studios in London’s Mayfair and Chelsea with classes ranging from beginner to advanced.
Jourdan Dunn’s particular class uses a combination of pulsing squats, lunges and planks as the main focus. The aim is to use the bar to build up your inner core strength, creating length and working your whole body with intense stretches. This class works the body like professional ballet dancers do with specific movements for key muscle groups. Not for the faint-hearted but for those who love a challenge - well worth a go!
Many classes are popping up around London – we don’t think it will be long till they spread further around the UK.
