Well let me tell you all about the benefits of green tea. So pop the kettle on, have a tea (green of course :-) ) and let me tell you why green tea is so good for your health.
Wait, does green tea burn fat? Yeah that’s right it helps speed up your metabolism. A study in the US shows men who took a green tea extract burned 17% more fat when exercising than men that didn’t take it. Couple drinking tea with a healthy diet and introducing a bit of exercise and the pounds should start dropping off.
- It can help lower your blood pressure
I won’t bore you with all the science (and there is a lot of it!) but basically it will help reduce bad cholesterol in your blood stream and that is going to help bring your blood pressure down. Several medical studies have shown a reduction in blood pressure levels when given green tea extracts.
- It can help protect you from heart disease
Again there is a lot of science behind this. Scientists say it has a positive effect on blood vessels and helps protect against the build-up of clots, a common cause of heart attacks.
- It prevents skin damage and helps fight wrinkles
Well that’s an added bonus! Yes it can help fight wrinkles and protect against skin damage. Scientists have done tests that show it’s up to 200 times more powerful than vitamin E at destroying skin damaging radicals in your body. Trust me that is a good thing!
Wow! What can’t green tea do? Well it helps kill oral bacteria which will lead to bad breath. Thank you very much green tea.
Okay this is not a health benefit but if you’re going to be drinking lots of green tea it certainly helps that is tastes so good!
